Charles is an alumnus of Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) having graduated with an LLB (Honours-Upper Division) Degree and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. He is attached to the firm’s Finance and Real Estate Department where he is engaged in a wide range of property law, conveyancing, property development work, property joint ventures, construction, banking, corporate commercial law and property and commercial dispute resolution and litigation matters.

In his pass time, he is volunteers for charity and is a Trustee for Volunteer Foundation Kenya Trust. He is also engaged in mentorship programs centered on young and destitute children.


Notable contribution
• Acting for the developer in a commercial development consisting of over 200,000 square feet of office and retail spaces, a 60-bed capacity Hotel and ballroom including advising on the drafting of the agreements for sale and long term leases in respect of the sale of the units in the building and drafting and negotiating the short term commercial leases In respect of all the retail spaces in the building

• Acting for a client and carrying out due diligence in respect of a joint venture involving the sale and acquisition of 50% of the shares in a company holding land and preparing and negotiating the share subscription and the shareholders agreement in a transaction valued at approximately K.Shs. 2,500,000,000

• Acting for a developer by litigating the enforcement of a forfeited contractors performance bond

• Acting for a client in the sale of property in Nairobi for a sum of K.Shs 350,000,000 including carrying out a due diligence on the acquiring entity and negotiating the agreement for sale and preparing the completion documents

• Acting for a group of clients in the sale of their shares and subsequent exit from a soft drinks and cordials manufacturing company to an international private equity firm including preparing and negotiating share purchase agreement and loan agreement in a transaction valued at approximately USD. 15,000,000

• Acting for the developer in a residential development comprising of 48 apartments including advising on the drafting of the agreement for sale and lease as well as negotiating the agreement for sale and lease with various purchasers and their respective advocates
